Relax & Restore Retreat

Friday August 24th to Sunday August 26th 2018

A relaxing retreat featuring massage, meditation and chilling-out. Plus, time for healthy lakeside walks out in the countryside. The yoga class is suitable for someone with little or no yoga experience. Also suitable for improvers.

A boat service is provided as an option if you desire to visit the temple on Inis Rath Island before yoga for a morning chant with cymbals. This has proven to be a peaceful and spiritual way to start the day.

Each guest gets two therapies on Saturday, and they are included in the overall package.

Arrivals from 2.30pm, and onwards. If you'd like a Friday therapy please arrive early and chat to us.

The cost of a therapy on Friday is £18 or €21 for a 40-minute therapy or £22 / €25 for 50-mins  For information about our therapies, see:

 6.15pm  Dinner

Tai Chi class with the ever-cheerful Frances McHugh
(it does not matter if you've never done anything like this before)

Meditation with Tim (a short class which aims to keep the mind occupied and focused during the evening time)

Option to take a boat service over to island (across 300 metres of lake water) to visit temple. Depart from island again with plenty of time for morning yoga.

(Optional) Attendance at the 'Greeting of the Deities' in the temple. This ceremony begins with some spiritual music arranged by George Harrison (of the Beatles) in 1970 - George played the harmonium for the recording.

The programme continues with some chant music and an arati - aratis are ancient ceremonies that have taken place in Hindu and Buddhist temples for millennia.

Afterwards there is a talk on the Srimad Bhagavatam, a Sanskrit philosophical text. Guests are welcome to stay for as long as they like, or may relax elsewhere on the island, as they wish.
